You should be aware that building a list is an essential to any business. Whether it’s a list of leads, prospects, clients, customers…they are part of the equation. If you haven’t started building a list, get going! Give your list tender loving care and you’ll be rewarded.

Tip 1: Offer Free VALUABLE content, constantly. There’s a difference between offering a free eBook download and continually giving free advice, tips and ideas.

Tip 2: Create capture or squeeze pages. One of the easiest ways to get someone’s information (name and email) is by offering something free if they just submit their information. The capture page should be related to what you’re giving away. If you’re page targets people who are looking for a work-at-home business then your free offer should be content about work-at-home subject matter.

Tip 3: Use MANY different advertising channels. There are a vast number of ways to advertise directly and indirectly that you could do it 24/7, no joke. Some ideas are PPC, Website banner ads, Traffic Exchanges, List Builders, Forums, Classifieds, Article Submission sites and social networks.

Tip 4: Purchase qualified leads. Of course this is an easy way but if you have a budget to spend on QUALITY leads, this may be a way to go. And, don’t just buy any leads. You could get 100 leads a day for $10 but I will bet you those leads will be garbage.

Tip 5: Share your story. People want to follow genuine, experienced individuals. If you’ve been in internet or network marketing for 6 months, you absolutely have a story. It could be as simple as “When I started ____ and now ____.” …of course with some depth. You have to give people a reason to listen to you, and a story is a necessity to being a marketer.
I’ve kept these tips pretty generic. Have no fear, I DO plan to go into detail on these tips in coming posts so stay tuned. Better yet, subscribe via RSS or join my newsletter so you’ll find out when I make an update.

Have a wonderful day!

It’s probably safe to say that 95% of people have a grasp on life but just how many people work to progress? There’s a fine line between making things happen and progress. I continue to read on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and other sites where people write status updates/messages. These messages are of a variety that has no end – from “eating dinner” to “Just read a book” to “Have you seen this video?”. I’m a little baffled how people really get things done towards their goals when they are doing a dozen things within the same hour.

Some time ago I watched a video by Eben Pagan and he talked about productivity a bit. Now this information wasn’t a “never before seen” discovery (although I believe he did some testing on this claim) but his point was that to be truly productive it was best to do things in time blocks. Basically, instead of spreading yourself between 4 things in a given two hours, focus on JUST 1 thing before moving to the next. He claimed it takes 20 minutes to really get into something with deep thought. If you break away from copy-writing and then try to go back, it will take 20 minutes to get into your thought process and frame of mind. If this is accurate then most people are much less productive than they could be…

Eben’s information ties directly into my “Progressive Marketing” course. Generally we all have several things going on in our lives such as family, friends, running a business, creating websites, cooking, school, work, etc.. The concept behind Progressive Marketing is to help you become more productive immediately. There are dozens of things you simply don’t need to spend as much time doing as you probably are currently.

There is a big huff in the Internet marketing world as people struggle to make their first $1000 or even $100 but it’s simply not hard to do if you’ve got the right skills, tools, resources and drive. I’m going to help you get away from that struggle – you’re going to want me to help you.

So where do you get this Progressive Marketing course? When it’s ready, you’ll find it on The Progressive Marketing website. Oh, and you’ll get Free stuff right away – it’s pretty awesome.

Talk to you soon.

Previously I wrote about the importance in building an email list so this post is about the ‘how’ part of the equation. I’d like to first mention that there are dozens of ways to effectively build an email list of your own that I simply will not cover in this post since there are so many possibilities.

There are thousands of people on the Internet every day who are searching for an answer. Generally that answer will solve some kind of problem they are facing or resolve an issue. sorry, but you need to read between the lines a little bit in order to understand what I mean. The answers people search for aren’t necessarily based on factual questions but rather on ‘how to’ or some kind of help to make their lives better. It can be in the form of a book, a product to help in the kitchen, cooking instructions, medical “cures” for a sickness…the list goes on.

What does this have to do with “how” to build a list? Something that you may or may not know already is that you can build a list in virtually any market/niche that you desire. Marketers already have wide variety of email lists from bowling to cooking to musical instrument instructions to the most obvious, how to make money on the Internet. One of the strategies to list building is targeting a niche of some kind. You want to focus your attention to a specific market in order to appeal to a audience you know would be interested in your product/service. In most cases the people in markets outside the “how to make money online” niche are going to be easier to sell as they have not been hammered or saturated with product offerings around their interests. By targeting these less saturated niches you open plenty of opportunity to grow your business and get plenty of untouched leads.

In order to build a list the easiest way is providing content for free. This content needs to be valuable, interesting, and unique/different than the average content you would find on almost any related website. By providing valuable, free content, people will want to come back for more. If you offer a bunch of stuff for free (and it’s valuable with good info) the visitor/prospect will be more willing to buy from you – that’s simply how it is.

You can offer free content such as videos and eBooks via an auto-responder. The visitor goes to your website, they read some copy for the freebie (and the copy shouldn’t be long by the way because you’re giving something away), the visitor fills out a short form which automatically subscribes them to your auto-responder system, and then they get the freebie emailed to them automatically. Now you have that visitors information and they have the freebie you promised. it’s really that simple, honestly.

Have questions? leave a comment or contact me though my form. I’ll usually respond within a business day. If I don’t, try write a comment instead.

Several minutes ago I finished listening and watching a recorded webinar between two networkers. One of the messages has really stuck as it’s probably quite accurate regarding how people use networking in their business and even their lives. Unfortunately by human nature we’re greedy – we put ourselves first.

Networking on the internet has become a career for many people. Additionally, even more people dream in becoming financially successful through network marketing. There’s a fundamental issue staring those people right in the face and the majority of them probably don’t even realize.

While I was listening to the webinar, one of the marketers said that you need to be willing to invest in someone else. How many times have you heard that? Personally I thought the saying was “You need to be willing to invest in yourself”…not “…invest in someone else”!! This CAN’T be right…

To my surprise this concept is way more powerful than I would have ever thought. Chances are I wouldn’t have thought like that anyway but it makes a lot of sense. In theory you’re not just investing in someone else but also yourself, at the same time. Now, we’re not talking about money necessarily so don’t freak out too much on me.

One of the great powers of networking is the blossom and even viral effect it can create for you. To do so you can start by asking people how you can help them. I know, it sounds pretty basic…and it is. Providing people with a value that they need is THE item of importance. Again, providing someone else with something they feel is valuable can drastically improve your networking success. Yes, it’s a very simply concept but makes perfect sense.

Let’s take an example of the above and put it into context.

You know John who is an internet marketer. John already makes $40,000 a year in his online business. Great! Just because he makes more money than you do (and in this example we’ll pretend it’s true) doesn’t mean anything. You contact John and simply ask if their is anything you can do to help him. Of course, that is done with a slight introduction of yourself. John gets back to you and says he needs help designing a better website and you reply back saying you can help him get a great new design for his site.

At this point John has already welcomed you to help as well as told you what he needs. Now you can do one of two things; give him that value he’s looking for or not, it’s that simple.

You then contact a couple web designers after taking a look at their samples and connect John with one of the designers. You’ve now provided John with value, not trying to sell him something without knowing him. Do you think John is going to stay connected with you? Chances are he will as you did something FOR him at no cost on his end.

This type of networking can get even better. Imagine applying similar principles to marketers who are more successful than John. Don’t think it could happen? Think again.

As a networker you want to connect with people by earning their trust and providing value to them. This can be done several ways but the above is a powerful idea that I’ve just learned about. Put other people’s needs ahead of yours like the example explains. It’s easy to say “What do I get out of it?” and if you think about the example, you’ll understand how quickly you can connect with very successful people for almost nothing.

In case you don’t know, “SEO” (Search Engine Optimization) means more than putting some keywords, description, and title into your meta information on a specific webpage or website. Those three elements are the very basics that are generally the starting points in regards to having a search engine friendly webpage/website.

Lately I’ve talked/chatted with people in several type of conversations where SEO has been a topic. For whatever reason the term SEO has taken on a life of its own. When optimizing a website or applying SEO to your website, it involves more than the three elements of meta information that I previously mentioned. Yes, you can have do some basic SEO but in reality, that should already be the case when building any webpage/website now.

Looking beyond those basics, you want to apply image tagging, link tagging, inbound links, outbound links, internal link tagging, linked keywords, copy writing with keywords, specifically targeting less generic keywords for each page to start…and so on. Don’t think it’s impossible to learn some more than basic approaches but realize real “SEO” is more involved than choosing 12 generic keywords, writing a description, and applying a title for your meta information – remember, there are companies that specifically offer SEO services so if you think you’re doing SEO like you should be doing, you may want to investigate further.

Let me remind you that if you have a website that you want to get traffic to, adding new content weekly or even daily is a good practice. Along with that, make sure you’re applying new keywords, descriptions, and titles to that content, like what you would typically do on a blog. This will drastically help search engine ranking…

Keep on building!

Whether you sell your own product/service, are an affiliate to sell products/services, or simply build an opportunity/business or MLM, a very crucial part to your “success” is producing sales in some way – in almost every case, a sale means you make money, plain and simple. In this case “Success”is determined by making money, above the small amount of chump change that is made by a good percentage of people.

Some if not most of the successful marketers would agree that much of their focus is around lead generation. This doesn’t mean sitting in forums and buying leads necessarily but rather the way they operate is based on generation more leads from their products/services. You may be rolling your eyes thinking “Umm…isn’t their focus on selling stuff to make more money?”…and yes, that’s precisely why lead generation is important.

The easiest way to make a lot of money over and over again is by having a list of potential customers. Think about how many mailing lists you may be on and how many of those emails you get are telling you about a product/service you can buy – most likely that will be MOST of those emails.

Now, let’s put it into the eyes of an internet marketer like yourself. Say you have 500 people in your “newsletter” or email list who you can send an email to in a matter of minutes..for practically no cost (obviously taking into consideration the cost of your email system). And, if you build a list well by connecting with your readers and removing your “salesman” approach (which I teach how), that list of 500 will not drop down more than a handful of subscribers. You have at your fingertips people who will immediately receive your advertisement, opportunity, or product link and you don’t have to wait for traffic that will probably not buy from you anyway.

What would 200, 500, 1000, 2500 or even 10,000 opt-in leads who have already agreed to receive your emails be worth to you? Do you think you could explode your income and business by having that type of following? If you don’t think so, we need to sit down and talk!

If you spend some time looking at some of the successful internet marketers that exist today you’ll see what I’m talking about – they continually put effort into growing their mailing lists. Some ways they build their lists are not as obvious as others…

Here’s where it gets good…

There are plenty of options to generate leads which not all are very effective nor worthy of your time. What you want is a system that draws someone to fill out their contact information in exchange for something such as a free eBook or tutorial – they get something and so do you, just make sure it’s free and valuable because that will make this MUCH easier.

So…how do you find such a system or create one? Well, unless you know how to make it eye-catching, I would say using an existing system would be way easier. It doesn’t have to be fancy on the back-end so long as it works; collects lead information and delivers the product to that lead. And, you don’t have to go searching for one – I’ve already created it with no monthly fees or costs involved to use it on your end. That’s right, it’s Free.

Those who are part of my club will get a first go with the system. So long as you’re in the club, you’ll learn how to use it including types of advertising to do in order to generate the leads. The system will do the “selling” for you even though there really isn’t anything for sale. Additionally, I may have an option for site/link rotation so you can earn sign-ups without really doing anything.

Sound good? Keep posted!

Much of the struggles with making money online is that many people don’t operate/own a website that they can call “theirs” and that’s really an unfortunate fact. Thousands of people don’t understand having your own website is an important aspect to progressing through the internet marketing world. Even if your website is giving stuff away, that’s valuable too. In fact, that’s an easier way to build your email list which is a very crucial part of growing your income (if that’s what you want of course).

Anyway, I wanted to say that if you have this struggle, you’re certainly NOT the only one. For sake of argument, we’ll use the term “Mini-Site” which basically refers to a site that is made of only a few pages but offers value (free or purchasable product). Building a Mini-Site is quite simple if you have some tools and elements to make the process smooth.

This is one of the focuses that the Club I’m building (and almost ready to release as there are MANY people who are waiting to join) teaches you, from start to finish. Even if you have NO experience, you’ll be able to put a site together like you’ve done it before.

Oh, and, I’ll even PERSONALLY help you if you wish to use that service. If I can’t help you, there’s no charge – it’s that simple. PS: It will not cost $10,000 or even several thousand dollars like most marketers would charge for their time…

See you on the inside, soon enough!

Yesterday I was asked by a good friend how he can make money from home. His question didn’t surprise me as he’s always hinted that he has a desire to do his own thing by “working” for himself. At first I asked him what his motivation was behind asking me because there are usually reasons behind actions. His exact words were “You’ve been talking about how you’re making money aside from your job…and I’m interested how…”

I’ll openly admit this was exciting to have a good friend ask me to help him and teach him the possibilities that the Internet serves people every second of the day. Not having a job can be very depressing if you don’t have another source of income, but on the positive side it can be a motivator to make something else work for yourself. Incase you aren’t aware, much of the “failure” that people witness in their businesses is attributed to their actions; be unproductive and your business will follow suit.

Not every person is going to have success with an internet business nor a home-based business. There are some fundamentals of a brick-and-mortar business which are important to a successful internet business. Being educated on general business practices, if you’re not already, would be a wise time investment so that you don’t make silly mistakes costing you money and/or customers. For some people, business is simply NOT their interest.

The most basic way to learn about general business practices would be to read a book. You don’t have to read every page necessarily but something like “Business 101″ where you learn the core needs to keep a business running smoothly (even if it’s just you involved in the operational side).

Now I know an internet business usually has much less management skills needed but that doesn’t mean it’s any easier if you’re looking for success. If it was easy, don’t you think a lot more people (including yourself) would see more success and growth in their business?

Look at what makes the money – sales and customer service. Successful companies (like Dell when they started) had great customer service and great products. Yeah, the CS has changed a lot after sending a lot of their support over-seas as well as caring less about the customer with problematic products. This lack of customer care has hurt sales and…you know the rest.

Before you decide to start a business, prepare yourself to be a loyal sponsor/upline and be willing to devote time to support your customers.

The information age we live in continues at an exponential rate to populate the World Wide Web, otherwise known as the Internet, with content/information. From text posts such as this to lengthy videos it’s easy to search for what you want to know by typing a few keys and clicking your mouse. Compared to 10 years ago when going to the library was a common practice in school, we’ve developed a way to get information almost instantly. As one who wants to share information with others in their own way, you need a method of providing that content to readers, viewers, and web surfers.

Let’s cut to the chase – you need your own website.

Building your website can be done more ways than I care to describe at the moment but most importantly you do not need experience to do so. There are existing HTML templates, CMS systems, blogs, and forums that you can setup on your own domain which are already designed and built to be your means of sharing the information. Unfortunately, they are not always as “click and go” as they make it appear. But, there is good news. I’m going to teach you how, step-by-step, you can have a website up and running very quickly.

Above this post you can watch and listen as I share an example of a CMS (Content Management System) that you can install on your own domain to share with the world what you want them to know – your expertise!

Don’t worry, there are many videos in the recording process right now.
