By human nature we get frustrated easily. It’s a quite common characteristic of being human. Each of us has goals (at least I sure hope you do) which we strive to achieve in a certain time of our lives. Maybe it’s buying a fancy car, paying off your credit card debt, road tripping across country. Whatever your goals are, keep pushing forward to reach them. You will hit obstacles, challenges, bumps and road blocks but if you act like a cockroach (as Diane Hochman explained), you’ll find a way around to get to the destination. And, Diane has also helped teach that you don’t have to make it complicated or have it perfect to get it started.

The main point I want to make is ‘Don’t give up before you start’. What I mean by that is to realize your business, goals, dreams and success take time, plain and simple. You could work for 24 weeks on your website, spreading the word about the service for sale only to make a handful of actual sales. Do you give up? No. All that time you’ve spent for 24 weeks would be a waste, right? How do you know the success of the site is not simply 2 weeks away because you haven’t advertised on a certain website yet? You don’t.

Someone I’ve loved listening to, Gary Vaynerchuk, spent a couple years building his internet-based Wine show before it picked up steam. Now…he’s doing extremely well with a huge book deal, thousands and thousands of fans, speaking at events, and so on. You see, all the hard-work he continually spent on his brand for those initial years is and will continue to pay off for the rest of his life and business.

That being said, please make your own judgement calls. Maybe a certain business is simply not worth spending 2 years trying to build – that I can’t tell you without knowing lots of details. However, do not give up too easily or too early. There is no doubt in my mind that Gary smiles when he goes to sleep thinking to himself “I knew my hard work would pay off”. OK, maybe not that thought exactly…but you get the picture.

Personally, I’ve seen some great things happen with my business. Had I given up after a few months of trying to grow them, I’d continue to struggle and struggle…and struggle. Whatever you do, be passionate and ready to give it plenty of time, and hard work. Set your mind. Focus. Do whatever you can to make it happen.

Well I struggled just like what you have described.

I build a blog and try to drive traffic to my blog and then “bomb” my blog went south due to some error. I have to start all over again and I even double my effort. Still I am not making sales.

Well hopefully what you said will come true for me one day.

    Cheers

    Hi,

One should never give up !!!
Those are words I was told years ago by my late father.
This makes people stronger in their attitude to life.
And having these words in mind I also never give up.
You know , two years ago, the doctors found cancer in my body.
They have told me about it. Since that moment I knew that I would die in a very short time. But I didn’t give up and here I am, still alive and what’s more the last doctors’ diagnose is absolutely amazing : NO CANCER CELLS in my body !!!!! MIRACLE !!!!!!

I am getting great results using the AD-CO-OP System mentioned at my website. I was going to make this comment spam until you, Matt, edited it so I didn’t look like a spammer. Thanks.

Most people give up for a simple reason ofnot knowing where they are going! “God’s people perish because of lack of knowledge.”

First thing first, know who you are and make use of it. We are alive because of a single purpose, that is: To have a lifetime/eternal relationship with our Creator – God the Father.

Well, for the material things, so much are provided for us to learn and understand so that we will have Wisdom to choose the right thing.

For financial problems, there is a “Home of Millionaires’ Learning Course” so that we become one and be able to share to those who will need to know.

Never give, but rather learn from the valuable experience. Success is just around the corner. Thank you.

    GREAT point……”Don’t give up!!”

Joe Schroeder puts it, “You don’t have to get it RIGHT, just get it GOING!!”

Yesterday, we were talking about that.

How many “light bulbs” did Edison make, BEFORE he got one to work???

    Or Bell with the telephone???

Or Henry Ford with the automobile???

Do you climb Mount Everest first????

Three friends yesterday, listed their goals and then bared their souls as to “Why” they have not reached them.

Later, I was able to show each one, if they start with just ONE of them, the next ones will follow and flow. Learn from your failures and keep moving forward!! BUT….you “have to” START somewhere, in order to finish elsewhere!! =-D

    Hi Matt…

I am HONORED that you mention me on your blog….

And that you put me in a category with Gary VEE who I think is THE BOMB. Love the guy!

    Building a business is EXPONENTIAL.

It begins with LOVE and SWEAT and PASSION…

    Yields little for a while…

    And then…all of a sudden…

Often with the guidance of a mentor or two…

    You find the SWEET SPOT

    And then BOOM…

Exponential growth and spirals of income that you could never have imagined.

    It’s pretty cool…

But few ever experience it cause they throw in the towel before
the SWEET SPOT reveals itself to them.

    But it is there…

I know you are aware of it and have experienced it Matt….

I just hope your readers take heed of your advice.

Cause it sure is WORTH THE WAIT.

I agree with your noteworthy observations. We may often get frustrated and give up before getting really started.

Patience, realiazation of one’s potential, learning and hard work make possible to reach our goals.
